Welcome to Our Beach Home!
We're thrilled you've chosen to stay at our beloved second home, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Here are a few simple guidelines to help ensure a wonderful experience for everyone:
Treat It Like Your Own: This home is very special to us, and we appreciate you treating it with the same respect you would your own. If anything isn't as it should be, please let our property manager know right away. This helps us keep everything in top shape and ensures that you won't be held responsible for any pre-existing issues.
Smoke-Free Zone: For the health and comfort of all our guests, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.
Neighborly Love: Please keep noise to a minimum to maintain a peaceful environment. Quiet hours at Indian Rocks Beach are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM Sunday to Thursday and 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM on Friday and Saturday.
Keep It Intimate: Large gatherings are not allowed, but feel free to enjoy the company of up to 8 overnight guests.
Parking Made Easy: Up to three vehicles can fit comfortably in our driveway. Please avoid street parking to keep the local lanes clear.
Trash Talk: Trash day is Tuesday and Friday! Please set out the cans between 6:00 PM and 7:00 AM the night before, and tuck them away by 5:00 PM on pick-up days.
Pet Pals: We love furry friends but let us know in advance if you're bringing any, and a small deposit might be required. Always clean up after your pets to keep the area pristine.
Child Safety: Always keep an eye on young ones during your stay.
Protect Our Wildlife: If you're visiting from May to October, please be mindful of turtle nesting areas and follow all local guidelines to protect our wildlife.
Beach Safety: Enjoy the beautiful beaches, but always be cautious of rip currents and follow safety advice.
Hurricane Protocol: Safety first! If a hurricane is on the horizon, heed local evacuation orders promptly.
Thank you for cooperating with these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for all. We hope you have an amazing stay at Indian Rocks Beach!
Help Us Protect Florida’s Sea Turtles!
Our beautiful beaches aren't just perfect for sunbathing and sandcastles—they're also crucial nesting grounds for the magnificent sea turtles. We're committed to preserving this natural wonder, and we'd love your help to protect these endangered creatures and their vibrant habitats.
Sea Turtle Nesting Season: May 1 - October 31
During this important time, we kindly ask for your cooperation to ensure the safety of our turtles:
Keep Your Distance: Please don’t touch or disturb the nesting sea turtles, their hatchlings, or their nests. It’s not just kind—it’s the law!
Light the Way Carefully: Use no flashlights or flash photography on the beach at night. Also, shield outdoor lights, close drapes, or turn off lights that might shine onto the beach to avoid confusing the hatchlings.
Leave Only Footprints: Fill in any holes and flatten sandcastles to clear the way for turtle mommies and babies. Please take all your belongings with you when you leave the beach, especially overnight.
Stay Clear: Give nesting turtles and their little ones plenty of space to avoid distress.
Trash Patrol: Dispose of litter properly, especially fishing lines or plastic, which can be harmful.
Get Involved: Join in local beach clean-ups and learn more about how you can help save our sea turtles.
Support Turtle Conservation: Refrain from buying products made from turtles, consider a turtle license plate to support conservation funds, and spread the word about protecting these beautiful animals.
Want More Info? For further details on sea turtle conservation and local ordinances, visit Florida Wildlife Commission.
Need Assistance or Have Questions? Reach out to our local Indian Rocks Beach Code Enforcement officer, John Ouimette, at (727) 517-0404.
Thank you for joining us in our efforts to protect these wonderful sea creatures and their natural environment. Together, we can make a difference for future generations to enjoy!
Stay Safe in the Surf: Understanding Rip Currents
Rip currents can be dangerous, so knowing how to handle them is key to a safe beach day. Here’s what you can do to stay safe:
Check Conditions: Always look for the latest surf forecasts and beach conditions before you dip your toes in the water. Keep an eye out for flags—green for low risk, yellow for moderate risk, and red for high risk—and follow any posted signs.
Talk to Lifeguards: Before swimming, ask lifeguards about water and beach conditions. Swim only where lifeguards are present.
Stay Close: Keep near the shore and don’t swim too far out. Rip currents can move fast, pulling you away from where you started.
Avoid Structures: Stay at least 100 feet away from piers and jetties where rip currents often form.
Swim Smart: Always swim in groups or with someone who’s a strong swimmer. Rip currents are less intimidating when you’re not alone.
Swim Parallel: If caught in a rip current, don’t swim against it. Swim parallel to the shore until you’re free of the current, then head to the beach.
Stay Calm: If trapped in a rip current, stay calm. Tread water or float and save your energy. When the current lessens, make your way to shore.
Signal for Help: If you can’t escape, draw attention to yourself. Wave your arms and shout for help.
Following these tips will help you enjoy your beach time safely. Remember, understanding and respect for the ocean's power are your best tools for staying safe.
